Code of Practice
We stand by our Code of Professional Practice because adherence means that everyone who has professional dealings with us, be they client or colleague, gets a better deal.
Colleagues
Members are to:
• Encourage all colleagues to adhere to the Code of Professional Practice.
• Assist colleagues in their professional development.
• Call upon colleagues in situations outside of their own expertise and competence.
• Exchange knowledge as well as relevant information as it pertains to new standards and work practices.
Profession
Members are to:
• Obey all laws governing their work.
• Be fully responsible for detecting, correcting and informing the client of all electrical, operational and other potential hazards relative to landscape lighting installations.
• Be accurate in stating claims and specifications.
• Avoid all other associations that may present a conflict of interest with the IAALL Code of Professional Practice.
Product
All lighting artists, consultants, contractors, designers and engineers shall ensure that all product and related equipment is of the highest possible standard. Lifetime warranty light fixtures and transformers are to be specified wherever possible in proposals and designs.
